Muslim Family wiped out in Islamophobic Attack

In London, Canada on June 6th, a Pakistani-Muslim family was murdered in an Islamophobic attack. According to reports, a man drove his car off the side of the road in an attempt to hit the family. Three generations including parents Salman Afzaal and Madiha Salman, daughter Yumna Salman, and grandmother Talat Afzaal were killed.The nine-year-old son, Fayez Afzaal, is the only surviving member of the family and is currently hospitalized for treatment of his injuries. The assailant is facing four counts of first-degree murder, the police say that the assailant did not know the victims but the attack was planned. Following the attack, the Canadian government is pursuing various measures including an emergency summit to tackle rampant Islamophobia in Canada. This is just the latest of many hate crimes against Muslim and Arab people in North America.
