Cornel West resigns from Harvard over anti-Palestinian racism

Former Dean of the Harvard Divinity School, Cornel West, published a tweet on the 12th of July explaining his many reasons for resigning. Among the reasons listed are a low salary, superficial diversity efforts from the university at large, and the “administration’s hostility to the Palestinian cause” which West describes as “disgusting.” West is a renowned public intellectual and educator and will continue speaking engagements and racial justice work going forward. His public support for the Palestinian cause is notable, especially as many Arab-Americans risk losing their jobs or facing other unfair disciplinary action by publicly supporting Palestine.
