New study examines everyday life, challenges of Chicago area Arab Americans

A new study from the University of Illinois Chicago examines racial experiences for Arab Americans in the Chicago area. This radio interview with Reset, featuring Nadine Naber, professor of gender and women’s studies and global Asian studies at UIC, and Nadiah Alyafai, youth and political organizer at the Arab American Action Network, detail the report’s findings.

One especially illuminating  finding is that many Arab Americans would like to be able to check something other than “white” on official forms.
